Are 2 triangles considered congruent if the only way you can get equal parts to correspond is by reflection?

I thought that triangle congruence only held if one triangle could coincide with the other through rigid transformations. Since reflection is not a rigid transformation I concluded that 2 such triangles were not congruent. One of my clmates disagreed with me and my text book is vague on this idea.
