Question about stereo amps?

Hi all, I just ran standard 22gauge speaker wire from my office (where my stereo is located) into my bedroom. Problem is that the wire is so long, the signal is barely audible in my bedroom. I really don't know much about stereo's and speakers, so I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Is there a type of amp that I can put speaker wire into, have it amplify the signal then output it in speaker wire again? Thanks!
