How totally wrong is this!?!?!?

So im going to try and condense this super long story into a shorty story. So me and my bf were together for 3 yrs we went through so much hell together. Just dealings with our families and stuff. It was basically a romeo and juliet type situation. He recently cheated on me and he really does regret it i know he does. I know that after a break If i were to take him back he would never ever do it again. He's kind of scaring me during this break because we aren't really talking but he is isolating himself from everyone and everything. He isn't hanging out with his friends he isn't doing what he normally does and he just isnt acting like himself. Him acting like this makes me think that im not sure if i really am in love with him and i think that for myself in order to figure this out I need to be with another guy. I think that this would give me answers and stuff and then im going out of town for a week so i think then when i come back my head will be clear and I will be able to make better decisions about the whole deal. Can I have your opinions on this situation please
