Why is the music of the snake charmer's pungi hypnotize the cobra and the audience?

I've never been to India (I changed my name when I became a Hindu) so I've never seen a snake charmer in person. When I was five, I saw one on TV. The music put me into a trance, and I became a snake charmer in India. (Years later, through hypnotic regression, I found out I was a snake charmer in a past life). Does any one know why the music is hypnotic? Why does it hypnotize the cobra? Thank you very much.
