Why doesn't India flourish in olympics despite being second most populated country in the world?

Indians think that cricket is the only game...trend should be changed. Lots and lots of people are breathing to win a gold medal in olympics they should be encouraged eg: Shathi's issue, She has put all her efforts to come out of her village but what did we do we have sent her back !!!
